Outdoor collectibles include sundials
If you collect garden benches, garden gnomes, and other outdoor collectibles -- have you considered including sundials in your collection?
Sundials might be thought of as the first solar clocks. Unlike today's high-tech wonders of solar cells powering and recharging batteries to run your clock, sundials went right to the source. They "tracked" the sun across the sky, casting a shadow on a calibrated dial to give a rough idea of the hours in the day.
Unlike today's wall clocks, desk clocks, and even wristwatches that are solar powered, sundials -- of course! -- were NOT portable. The beauty of a rustic or vintage sundial may be an enhancement to your home and your outdoor collectibles. But because of their nature and size, sundials will require serious space. Don't worry about weather and how it might affect your sundial collection. Most collectible sundials will be made of metals designed to endure and develop color, as well as character, as sun, wind, and the elements of weather treat them.
